How to Make an Origami Puppet (Bird Beak)

You can male two “Bird Beaks” and hold them in each hand while you sing Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds. You are one of the birds and the two puppets make three.

Watch this video and see if you can follow the steps and make your own Bird Beak. Origami can sometimes be challenging, so please ask an adult for help if you run into problems.

After you make your two birds, record a video of you sing Three Little Birds in Seesaw.

Here’s the link to the song:

West African Polyrhythms

Try playing these rhythms by clapping your hands or with anything that makes a sound by tapping, shaking, etc.

Teach a friend the rhythm you learned to play and then learn to play a different rhythm that you can play with your friend. Record the two different rhythms together in Seesaw.

You may do this and/or sing with Dideo with the video that’s in your Seesaw lesson.

De Colores Video with Lyrics

De Colores (accompaniment)

De colores,
De colores se visten los campos en la primavera.
De colores,
De colores son los pajaritos que vienen de afuera.
De colores,
De colores es el arco iris que vemos lucir.
Y por eso los grandes amores de muchos colores
Me gustan a mi.

Me gustan a mi.

De Colores Read/Sing-a-Long Book

In Colors

In colors,

In colors the fields are dressed

In the springtime

In colors,

Colorful are the little birds

That come from far away1

In colors,

Colorful is the rainbow

That we see shine

And that is why the great loves

of many colors are pleasing to me (3Xs)

Sings the rooster,

Sings the rooster with the

Cock-a-doodle-do, cock-a-doodle do…

The hen,

The hen with the

Cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck…

The baby chicks,

The baby chicks with the

Peep, peep, peep, peep…

And that is why the great loves

of many colors are pleasing to me (3Xs)

Lift Every Voice and Sing

James Weldon JohnsonJ. Rosamond Johnson

Lift ev’ry voice and sing
‘Til earth and heaven ring
Ring with the harmonies of Liberty
Let our rejoicing rise
High as the list’ning skies
Let it resound loud as the rolling sea
Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us
Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us
Facing the rising sun of our new day begun
Let us march on ’til victory is won
